چکیده

Methods Herein we present case series of various non-immediate DHRs (occurring at any time as from 1 hour after the initial drug administration) amongst which drug-related intertriginous and flexural exanthema (Baboon syndrome), DRESS syndrome, fixed drug eruption and contact dermatitis. In all cases we performed patch testing with standardized and allergens prepared at our laboratory with the suspected drugs. The timing of patch test procedure was in median 6 weeks after the resolution of skin changes.

Patch testing in the investigation of non-immediate cutaneous adverse drug reactions to metamizole.

Metamizole [INN; dipyrone (BAN, USAN)] is a pyrazolone derivative and one of the most commonly prescribed analgesics worldwide (1). Along with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), metamizole is very frequently involved in hypersensitivity reactions (2). Immunologically mediated hypersensitivity reactions to metamizole can be immediate (IgE-mediated) or non-immediate (T cell-mediated)...

Allergic contact dermatitis to benzocaine: the importance of concomitant positive patch test results.

Local anesthetics are widely used in clinical practice, and adverse effects are not uncommon. Delayed hypersensitivity reactions are among the most common effects, but immediate-type reactions may also occur. Patch testing should be considered in patients with hypersensitivity reactions. We present a case of allergic contact dermatitis to benzocaine that was detected incidentally by patch testi...
